Website search, full screen view, Excel export and more
Several new features have launched today, plus a preview of what is coming next week.
Omnisearch
We've added a universal search bar ("omnisearch") to the top of every page. Right now this lets you search and jump to your websites.
In the near future we'll be adding the ability to add a new website from this box if it isn't found, and to search for individual webpages within your websites.
Full screen table view
Insites normally limits the number of items you can see in a given table or grid, to fit your report. Sometimes this can stop you from seeing all the results that you want.
We've added a new full-screen view for all tables, which appears as a double-arrow icon to the left of the word
Export:
Clicking this new icon opens that table or grid in a full-screen display, and shows you every result for that table or grid.
Export as Microsoft Excel
Previously we allowed you to export any table as a CSV file. We've now added support for exporting to Microsoft Excel files (.xlsx) as well.
One key advantage: Microsoft Excel didn't allow you to import CSV files containing certain foreign characters. By using the new Excel export you won't suffer from this problem.
To export a table, just click the
Export link in the top right corner of that table and choose
Excel.
Coming soon: Key points
We're currently in the late stages of testing a new report feature: "Key points". These will appear at the bottom of the first page of a report, and summarize key points in a friendly and immediate way:
We expect this feature to roll out to selected customers next week.
